2024 has been a remarkable year for Global Innovative Vocational Education (GIVE) as we stayed true to our mission of spreading hope, creating opportunities, and making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and communities. With each initiative, we have seen the power of collaboration and kindness transform lives and bring smiles to countless faces.
Here are the activities we did in 2024:
AWARD RECOGNITION
We are thrilled to share that GIVE was honored at the Vince Memorial NGO Awards 2024 as the Best NGO in Education and Vocational Training. This prestigious recognition is a testament to your unwavering support and our collective dedication to transforming lives through education and skills training.
GIVE THE STREET PROJECT
This year’s GIVE THE STREET project was a resounding success! We distributed over 300 packs of food, drinks, and water to children in need, starting from Dansoman Zongo Junction and continuing through Kaneshie First Light, Lapaz, Accra Mall, and Circle.
This initiative was made possible thanks to the support of Actions Manifest, Hair By Berl, and our amazing community of donors. Together, we brought nourishment and smiles to those who needed it most.
BETTER ME PROJECT
The Better Me Project is one of our newest initiatives, launched after merging with our sister organization, IEMPOWER. Designed for students aged 13–18, this program equips young people with essential life and soft skills. Highlights include:
Goal Setting and Vision Board Creation
Leadership
Workshops with Esteemed Speakers on health, financial literacy, leadership, and self-development.
The pilot session in June 2024 with the Girls’ Club at Dansoman 6 Basic School was a remarkable success, demonstrating the transformative power of this program.
FUTURE FIT PROJECT
Future Fit Project is dedicated to empowering underprivileged children in Ghana by providing essential skills training. Aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 8, our initiative focuses on promoting decent work, economic growth, and youth employment. Through practical training, we aim to equip these children with valuable skills that enhance their future prospects.
Our project has two distinct phases:
Vocational Skills Training (Part 1):
Provide hands-on training in practical skills such as key holder making, bag making, necklace and bracelet making, knitting, and recycling.
Empower children with marketable vocational skills that can lead to sustainable livelihoods.
Soft Skills and Health Education (Part 2):
Focus on essential soft skills development, including communication, self-development, financial literacy, problem-solving, and leadership.
Educate children about health, hygiene, and overall well-being.
